Ode to Cicadas
Ode to Cicadas debuted in CYPHERS, UT's Dance Repertory Theatre showcase, in the Fall of 2024. Gabe’s role in the piece included working one-on-one with Meredith Rainey, an internationally renowned choreographer and guest artist for this showcase. The piece is a signal of reverence to one of the most striking audio phenomena in the natural world. The high-pitched droning noises of cicadas are often so loud and so constant that everyone and everything tune them out—this piece examines the insect in a way that nobody can ignore.
