About Gabe
Gabe is a composer, audio technologist, and sound artist fascinated by the evolving relationship between music and technology. Gabe recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Arts & Entertainment Technologies from UT Austin, and is set to return to UT for a degree in Music Composition from the Butler School. With a background in both traditional composition and experimental sound design, Gabe’s work explores the intersection of precision and expression—finding ways to retain the emotional, human-driven qualities of music while embracing the possibilities of modern audio technology.
Deeply interested in how musicians and consumers have shaped music technology over the past 30 years, Gabe is drawn to the challenge of working with systems designed for perfection—quantization, flawless intonation, rigid rhythms—and pushing them toward more organic, expressive outcomes. Recent projects include original scores for the University of Texas Theatre and Dance Department and a ten-channel audio output piece that re imagines how sound moves through physical space. Whether composing for performers, crafting immersive sonic environments, or experimenting with new production techniques, Gabe’s work seeks to bridge the gap between technological innovation and human artistry.
